Christmas Toy Handout

Saturday, December 19th was a big day! The Lord provided sacks of food to families in the morning and then TOYS in the afternoon.

As the volunteers from the food distribution were cleaning up , a new group of helpers came
to help with the toy shop. A BIG thanks goes out to Lucille, Connie,
Tammi, Lekeshia, Sherri, Pat, and Shirley for transforming the the food bank into a
wonderland of toys in only thirty minutes! It was a Christmas wonderland. God was most certainly in the building.

The doors opened at 1:00 for the sixty-three families that had pre-registered. As folks selected a gift for one child it was wrapped while they continued to search for the right toy to suit their other kids.

We thank Judge Hughes and Annie for working to stock our shelves with tons of wonderful toys. We even had enough toys that we could service an additional twenty-six families before the toy shop had to close.

All in all, 89 families received wrapped presents for every child in their house. We hope this lightened the burden on these struggling families, but more importantly we hope it created a ton of smiles and joy on Christmas morning. We also hope, that these gifts will somehow someday lead these precious children to the Lord

None of this would be possible without the God putting an unstoppable spirit in all of the volunteers.

Update

Tis the season!!!!! It is time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The Hughes Christian Outreach Ministry is planning on supplying needy families with enough groceries to have a nice Christmas dinner. We have been blessed with some nice donations and are getting prepared for the December 19 distribution. We will also have some toys to distribute to those families who registered.

We distributed to 187 families in November and we expect December to be at least that many.

We would like to especially thank Annie “LOU” Evans for all her hard work. Without her help we would not be able to accomplish near enough. Please take a moment to thank her.

Everyone interested and wanting to help please come on the 19th and help us spread the gospel and hand out some groceries.

“A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.” PROVERBS 22:9.

Merry Christmas to All and Keep Christ in Christmas

Holiday Season

The Holidays are upon us. Thanksgiving is first. A time to thank God for all blessings he has bestowed on us. Then comes Christmas, a time to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus. We understand that these days can place an added strain to families' budgets, especially those already strained.

We are planning a Thanksgiving distribution on November the 21st. I know that this is opening day of duck season but Melanie says that we must sacrifice. It is not really a sacrifice but a blessing to be able to serve!!!! Our goal is provide a touch of relief this holiday season so that the people in the Hughes community can see God's love through the HCOM.

Our donations have fallen some, but we are prepared to hold a good distribution helping families have a good meal and fellowship during these holidays. We plan on serving a large helping of the gospel during this time as well.

We are currently trying to secure turkeys and hams for our Christmas distribution with some success at this time.

We would like to invite anyone that desires to volunteer or make a financial or food donation to contact us at HCOM, P.O. Box1, Hughes, Arkansas 72348 or call 901-569-1744 or 870-339-4049.

May you all have a great Thanksgiving season.

God Bless You
